In episode one of The Workforce Wave Podcast, founding partner Patrick Bryant sits down with host Viva to trace the thread that runs through a remarkable career — from starting companies at sixteen, to building Go To Team and Assignment Desk into the largest video-crew operation in the country, to co-founding Workforce Wave alongside Colin Highland and his son Pate. Across thirty years behind the camera, the addiction was never the gear or the launch; it was watching the light bulb go off in someone else’s hands. Patrick talks candidly about why he partners with people who disagree with him, why this is the most engaged he has felt in three decades, and why a voice AI agent is the furthest thing from fancy voicemail.
What you’ll hear
- Why the “light bulb moment” — not the product, not the launch — is the real addiction behind every company he’s started
- The W-2-and-apprenticeship philosophy he built Go To Team on, in a world that went all-in on gig work
- Why he deliberately partners with people who disagree with him: “if we entirely agree, there’s no need for either of us to be in the meeting”
- Why, after thirty years behind the camera, voice AI is the most engaged he’s felt in three decades
- The “company brain” idea — an agent that learns your business over time, never quits, and never forgets
- Lab or Lie: are voice AI agents just fancy voicemail? A 30-year insider sets the record straight
About Patrick Bryant
Patrick Bryant is a founding partner of Workforce Wave alongside Colin Highland and his son Pate Bryant. A serial entrepreneur since the age of sixteen, he spent thirty-plus years behind the camera — covering everything from the Olympic Park bombing to presidential campaigns and hurricanes — and built Go To Team / Assignment Desk into the largest provider of video crews in the United States, run with his partner Sean Moffitt. He built it on W-2 staff and apprenticeships in a gig-everything world, and now brings that same builder’s instinct to voice AI.
