Never miss a potential client call again.
WFW connects to Clio's API to handle potential client intake 24/7 — capturing matter details, screening for conflicts, and scheduling consultations while your team sleeps.
ABA Model Rules compliant. Intake only — no legal advice. Conflict check runs before any consultation is offered. All intake data written directly to Clio.
After-Hours Intake Call — Friday 9:14pm
ABA Model Rules Compliant
Intake only — no legal advice given. Privilege caveat read at call start. Conflict screening before any commitment is made.
Capabilities
What this integration enables.
Three intake capabilities that work in Clio — not alongside it.
Clio Sync
24/7 Potential Client Intake
The agent captures caller name, contact information, legal matter type, and a summary of the situation. Creates a new Clio contact and potential matter record — all before your first available attorney sees the day.
Clio Sync
Conflict Screening Against Clio Contacts
The agent asks for adverse parties involved in the matter. WFW queries Clio contacts to check for conflicts of interest before scheduling is offered. Conflicts are flagged and routed to staff for review.
Clio Sync
Consultation Scheduling in Attorney Calendars
Once intake is complete and no conflicts are found, the agent offers available consultation times pulled from the attorney's Clio calendar. The appointment is created in Clio directly.
Data Flow
From intake call to Clio matter record.
What moves between WFW and Clio on every potential client intake call.
Potential client calls after hours
Agent answers immediately. It introduces itself as the firm's intake assistant and begins collecting: full name, phone, email, legal matter type (family law, personal injury, criminal defense, etc.), and a brief description of the situation.
Adverse party extraction and conflict check
The agent asks for any adverse parties (opposing individuals, businesses, insurance companies). WFW queries Clio via the Contacts API — if any adverse party matches an existing Clio contact, a conflict flag is created and the caller is told an attorney will call them back.
Matter record created in Clio
With no conflicts found, WFW creates a new Clio contact record and a potential matter. The GET /v2/calls/{id}/extractions payload — name, matter type, adverse parties, matter summary — is attached as a note to the Clio record.
Consultation booked in Clio calendar
Agent offers available consultation slots from the Clio calendar API. On selection, the appointment is created in Clio. Caller receives an SMS confirmation. Attorney sees the intake note and conflict status before the meeting.
Use Cases
Before and after.
Law firm intake workflows transformed by WFW + Clio.
Before
Potential client calls at 8pm on a Friday. Voicemail. Calls two competitor firms. One answers. You lost the client.
After
WFW answers. Intake completed at 8:03pm. Conflict check run. Consultation scheduled for Monday at 10am. Attorney has the full intake note waiting Monday morning.
Before
Conflict checks done manually by staff — sometimes skipped on intake, sometimes caught only at the first consultation. Awkward client conversations when conflicts surface late.
After
WFW asks for adverse parties during every intake call. Conflict check runs against Clio contacts before any commitment is made. Flagged calls queued for staff review — never scheduled.
Before
Intake team plays phone tag to schedule consultations. Multiple touchpoints before a consult is on the calendar. Potential clients go elsewhere.
After
Agent offers available times immediately after intake. Client books in a single call. Zero callbacks required. Consultation appears in Clio with the full intake context attached.
